   Soon our Vendors will be scanning the seed catalogs, preparing for the upcoming season! As we try and stay warm, it's hard to imagine that in a few short months we'll have our first day at the Market! Take time to reflect, relax and dream about warmer weather!

Thanks Neighbors In Action

We had a great turn out at the December market. Neighbors in Action provided coffee cake and coffee to those who visited. If you missed it, we plan to gather together again in the future.

2nd Winter Market next Saturday, December 14th

Please join us on Saturday, December 14th from 9 until noon for our 2nd Winter market. There will be a nice variety of vendors and items you can purchase for those holiday gifts. There will also be a Craft fair at the United Methodist Church on North 4th Street, so be sure to visit that as well.
The Market is in the La Crescent Community Center, located in the same building as the Fire Station on S 1st Street. The entrance door is on S Oak Street. Watch for our sign!

Enjoy these special days with Family and Friends

Here's hoping you'll be enjoying some quiet, yet fun times with your loved ones or friends this week. There is so much to be thankful for. If you have the opportunity, we ask that you consider helping those in need by donating cash or food to your local food pantry or check on those neighbors that are home bound during these cold months. 

Great 1st Indoor Market

You missed a great Market today! There were some fabulous vegetables, like kale, swiss chard, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes, there was bison and beef, pies, soaps, honey and dehydrated flax seed chips in several flavors! Not sure that all of this will be available next month, but we hope you can join us on December 14th to see what's there.

Great Weather- Great Market Finds!

This weekend, so far, sounds great for getting out and enjoying all that goes on in our area!
We hope you have time to stop and visit us at our first indoor Market this Saturday, the 16th!

Hours of operation will be 9 until noon, still leaving plenty of time for other things! See you soon!

Time flies!

Not trying to wish the days away, but our first indoor market is already next Saturday, November 16th! There will be a nice assortment of fresh root vegetables yet, apples, soaps, baked goods, meats, etc!
Start your day off early with us at 9 a.m. at the La Crescent
Community Center (Fire Station Building). Watch for our signs to remind you!

Local Winter Markets

If you missed the final outdoor market in our area today, keep in mind that there are several indoor markets to attend starting as soon as this coming Saturday. 

Cameron Park will be in operation starting November 2, 9, 23; December 7, 21; January 11, 25!  at the EcoPark from 10am - 1pm in La Crosse. 

Winona - at the Winona Mall from 9 until noon- November 9 and 23, December 14, 28, January 4, 18 and 25th (Frozen Film Festival) and February 1 and 15th.

And of course, right here in La Crescent at the La Crescent Community Center from 9 until noon, Saturday November 16th and Saturday, December 14th. We will also offer a cabin fever reliever market day on February 8th. 

Summer 2013

So sad to see another summer market come to a close. We hope you enjoyed visiting throughout the last few months and we look forward to 2014.
However, before that, we will get 2 Winter Market days in, November 16 and December 14th! Stay tuned for details.

Our weather will change and you'll be wanting to make your favorite soup. So many items for that favorite soup are available at our market! Stock up on potatoes, carrots, squash, peppers, and onions!

Stock up on several items from our market. Potatoes keep well in a cool dry place (not the refrigerator however), grate some zucchini for future use in bars or breads, get some squash, onions, carrots, raspberries for muffins, chop green peppers for soups and so much more!

Have you had enough Sweet Corn yet? Get it now and buy extra to freeze for later. Same goes for tomatoes! You'll be glad you did!

I think you weren't alone- that holiday throws us all off! There are 6 weeks left for you to enjoy locally grown and produced items as the summer season ends October 15th.
We also offer 3 Winter markets at the La Crescent Community Center, located at 336 S 1st- Fire Station building. November 16th and December 14th are scheduled and then we'll offer one more in February- kind of a winter blahs market, just to get you out of the house!
Tons of fresh vegetables and some melons and berries as well.

Scary Thought! Fall is on it's way-

I just counted the weeks until the market ends! 7 weeks until our last day! It surely seems as if it all just took off and here we are approaching September and cooler weather. Don't let that deter you from shopping our market! There is so much available and melons are starting to show up, as well squash in the near future. 

Enjoy summer's bounty and make a conscious choice to buy local!

Summer is disappearing much too fast! but there is plenty fun at your local Farmers Markets! enjoy summer's bounty by making it to several local markets weekly and spread out the abundance of fresh foods! It can't get much better than that!

We're into July and that can only mean good things! As the heat and humidity soar, the gardens start to produce! Tomatoes are making an appearance these days, a few cukes, green beans, beets and more! It can only get better!

A slow start to spring means more bedding plants and less fresh vegetables than last year at this time. But don't let that discourage you!
